This year, Rayfoun’s workshop has been held in the public garden that the City Council has made available to Awlad el Aasr.
After a lot of uncertainty due to not having a sponsor, we were finally able to receive the children and start the workshop!
The last day of the workshops we always invite the parents to share a bit of the experience and we all play together! We also show everyone the result of everything we have done for ten days. It’s a very special day!
There is always an anecdote to share. This time it is about the intervention that two girls have prepared linking the activities of emotional intelligence and theater. We wanted to talk about sadness, one of those very important emotions, which sometimes we find it hard to talk about.
The girls knew each other and got together to make their speech. And so the scene begins:
A girl is sad and cries on the garden bench, her friend asks:
– Why are you crying?
– The others annoy me all the time, they make jokes about me – the girl answers between sobs.
– Look at me, look at me well – says her friend- I’m small and they always treat me like a dwarf! People who don’t know me ask me if I’m 5 or 6 years old and I’m 10! you see? But they have been understanding because when they start talking to me and realize that I understand many things and that what they say doesn’t bother me, but that I stand out with my personal opinions, without giving importance to what they think, then they back down and they feel ashamed.
And that was how the children discovered emotions and talked about them. We are there to inspire the personal initiative of each one, in a free and spontaneous way.
