In 2008, Norma Sfeir and a team of eight volunteers, under the patronage of Dr. Fouad Trad -first president of the association- and the help of Mr. David Corm, founded the non-profit association “Awlad el – Asr”, and the concept was launched.

Today, Awlad is a non-profit organization, whose values are consistent with the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child to equality, self-expression, freedom and peace.

Awlad was first registered in Lebanon, and a sister NGO in Paris France in 2008. In 2010 in Kinshasa RD Congo, and in 2012 in Venezuela.
